Our

Commitments

Quality Food

We believe fresh is best, so we grow as much of our own fruit and veges that we can here in our own gardens and orchard. Otherwise where possible, we try to source as much of our supplies from local suppliers in katikati, waihi, and the bay of plenty!!

The majority of our menu items are made onsite, even our sauces and relishes, so you can be sure to be getting a quality and fresh product unavailable anywhere else!!

Quality Service

Quality service is paramount to all businesses, even more so in the hospitality industry. We strive to provide consistent, friendly, and quality service to create an enjoyable customer experience time after time!!

Whilst we aim to go the extra mile for all our staff, please do not be offended if we say no to some requests. Unfortunately time, staff, and equipment may mean we can't perform these requests, not that we don't like you!!

Reducing our Environmental Impact

To assist in reducing the environmental impact that businesses can have, we look for ways to reduce this impact. This includes looking for sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging, charging for takeaway packaging and discounting the use of customers own containers. We also reuse as much of our plastics that we can, and all excess plastics, cans, paper, cardboard, and glass are separated and recycled.

Our customer drinks fridge is glass bottle only, we do not sell plastic bottled water but we are more than happy to refill any bottles brought in by customers at no charge.

To prevent damage to the environment caused by carbon emmissions during transport, we try our best to grow our own produce, and source as many of our supplies from local suppliers!

Cruelty Free Zone

Where possible, we try to use only free range meats in our kitchen. Our menus also sport a wide variety of vegetarian, vegan and dairy free dishes.

Our grounds are dog and pet friendly. Water bowls are available on request.

About Us

Originally starting life as a local orchard & veggie market place, the grounds were later turned into a cafe. Many will remember a time where it was The Country Pumpkin, and later The Rustic Pumpkin.

The owners of The Long Table Cafe, as it was known prior to The Orchard House, were responsible for much of the cafes shaping into what you see today.

As owners of The Orchard House, we are hoping to continue the unique vintage appeal, and attempt to mix it with a modern approach.

With large outdoor grounds, perfect for kids, families, and pets, as well as little nooks and crannies within the cafe itself, we believe that The Orchard House will appeal to many.

Serving up hot coffee, courtesy of Little Drum Coffee from Mount Maunganui, together with our large offering of fresh home made food in our cabinet and on our menus, we hope you will enjoy your time here.

Plenty of parking means that we can cater for trucks, campers, trailer, various bike and car clubs, as well as hosting your wedding, private function or business event.

So if you haven't already, stop in and make The Orchard House your next step back in time!!
